About the artist

Jiří Petrbok

Jiří Petrbok (born 1962, Kladno) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1984 to 1990 and later taught there for many years. His paintings explore self-portraiture, masks and shifting identity. Personal experience meets irony, the grotesque and the pressures of the outside world.
