About the artist

Josef Bolf

Josef Bolf (born 1971) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Alongside painting, he makes comics and short puppet films. His images often draw on childhood memories of a housing estate and feelings of solitude. Scratching through ink laid over coloured wax is one of his characteristic techniques.
